F.A.Q.

What do you do?

We help you create and deliver arts-infused engagement opportunities thereby significantly improving the experience of patients, families and staff. We meet with you, discover how to best improve your facility, and then create a blueprint - a plan - that is tailored to your needs. We help you roll it out by creating a comprehensive program. We monitor its success and make recommendations for improvement.

Are the artists paid?

Yes.

Are you art therapists?

While we support and acknowledge the importance and successes of Art Therapy, the focus of ARTery Arts and Health is slightly different, because the arts-infused activities are delivered by artists and not art therapists. Our programs focus on enjoyment and being ‘in the moment’, being creative and making social connections.  . . and yes supporting well-being. In our work, the artists use their professional skills to inspire, and co-create with the participants.

What art media do you use?

Each art project is patient participant driven. We provide materials and expertise in a range of media and work with artists who are used to working in alternative settings. We are responsive, collaborative and engaging.

Is there a cost to participate?

There is a cost to run each program and is dependant on the needs of the organization. During our initial consultation, we will discuss your goals and put together a plan and budget.

How long have you been in this business?

We have been in this business for over 20 years and have extensive experience in working with hospitals, and in connecting them with educational institutions and centres for arts and culture. We believe in partnerships and collaboration, and to tailoring programs to a range of abilities: that is what makes us different and continually innovative.
